Tips for working securely from wireless hotspots

by Liz Fraumann on June 2, 2010

Microsoft recently offered seven tips for working on the road – securely  – from wireless hotspots.

Hotspots range from paid services, such as T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless, to public, free connections. But they all have one thing in common—they are all open networks that are vulnerable to security breaches. And that means it’s up to you to protect the data on your PC.

There are further tips found on About.com. Personally, what I have found is to use one of the cellular-based wireless products rather than chancing it with a “hot spot.”

Bottom line, if you choose to use a hotspot for communications, we recommend following steps like Microsoft shares. The Internet is our shared responsibility to keep safe and secure. You can learn about how San Diegans are taking steps to Securing Our eCity here.

The most difficult thing is to find a blog with unique and fresh content but your posts are not alike. Keep it like this.
