Our vision is to create a safe digital neighborhood that is both resistant to cyber‐threats and resilient to man‐made or natural disasters, where our citizens, businesses, organizations and government can effectively and securely navigate, collaborate and conduct business to remain economically competitive in today’s fast‐changing technological environment. The secure cyber city model we establish in San Diego will empower our citizens and serve as a beacon for cities across North America and the world.

Each of the workgroups are focused on specific objectives that drive towards the vision and mission statements of the coalition, with a primary focus on the mission to enable every San Diegan to live, work and play safely in the cyber world.

  • Public/Private Partnerships
    Abstract: The Securing Our eCity Public/Private Partnership Workgroup is focused on facilitating interaction between the regional sectors, industry and government to support the SOeC mission.
  • Policy
    Abstract:The Securing Our eCity Police Workgroup is focused on city, state and federal cybersecuity policies. They work to understand the benefits to both business and individuals and to influence adoption for the benefit of the majority of San Diegans. They also work with local organizations to foster internal cybersecurity policies that protect businesses.
  • Awareness
    Abstract: The Securing Our eCity Awareness Workgroup is focused on increased visibility of cybersecurity. They will foster a unified message so that all citizens will have a basic understanding of the issues which surround cybersecurity and have knowledge of correct actions to take when they are in cyberspace.
  • Education
    Abstract: The focus of the Securing Our eCity Education Workgroup is to foster general and curriculum-based learning for all digital citizens. This includes the general public (individuals and organizations), formal schools (K-12, university, adult continuing ed) and seniors.
  • Law Enforcement
    Abstract: The Securing Our eCity Law Enforcement Workgroup is focused on cybercrime prevention through awareness and to provide a guide for organization’s “first responders” if an incident occurs.
  • Cluster
    Abstract:The Securing Our eCity Cluster Workgroup is focused on the analysis and recommendations for building a cybersecurity business cluster in San Diego.
  • Critical Infrastructure
    Abstract: The Securing Our eCity Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Workgroup is focused on working with the nineteen industry segments that make up San Diego’s critical infrastructure elements and helping to ensure they are cyber secure.
  • Security Metrics
    Abstract: The security Metrics Workgroup is focused on measuring the overall programs of the initiative while working closely with the other workgroups as well as keeping up to date with current security issues.
