Securing Our eCity® Cybersecurity Symposium & Awards Fall 2011

SOeC’s 2011 fall symposium and awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Sheraton Harbor Island Hotel in San Diego, drawing more than 250 security professionals, business executives and managers, IT Consultants, government and law enforcement officials.

Among the highlights were appearances by SDG&E Chairman and CEO Jessie L. Knight, Jr., White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt (via video); Acting Assistant Secretary of Cyber Security and Communication Issues for the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security Roberta Stempfly, and National Health Information Sharing & Analysis Center Executive Director Deborah Kobza.

Honorees this year included Darin Anderson, General Manager, North America for Norman Defense Systems, who was recognized with an Exemplary Performance Award; and Alan Watkins, IT Operations & Security Manager for The City of San Diego, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
